Molybdenum
Molybdenum (Molybdenum) is a refractory metallic element that easily forms hard, stable carbides and has the sixth highest melting point of any element. Molybdenum (Molybdenum) is widely used as high temperature, corrosion resistant metal alloy, such as steel, cast iron and superalloys for military and defense industry, semiconductor industry and special machinery workshops.
Molybdenum (Molybdenum) improves hardenability, strength, toughness, abrasion and corrosion resistance. This versatility makes Molybdenum a fixture in today’s industrial technology, which can withstand high stress, wide temperature ranges and highly corrosive media, requiring material without significantly enlarging or softening.
For Molybdenum alloys, Zormetal offers a wide range of molybdenum and molybdenum alloy products. Molybdenum product types include sheet, plate, rod, wire and pipe. TZM Molybdenum (Titanium – zirconium – molybdenum) TZM is a known molybdenum alloy (0.5% Ti, 0.08% Zr, the remainder Mo), reinforced by a P / M or vacuum arcing method. It provides excellent service in applications requiring high strength, creep resistance at high temperatures. The TZM Molybdenum (Molybdenum) also allows a higher service temperature without smoothing or attenuating the alloy.
MHC Molybdenum (Molybdenum) (Molybdenum – hafnium – carbide) MHC is a molybdenum alloy containing Hafnium carbide, consolidated by the P / M process. The high recrystallization temperature, high strength, low thermal expansion and high thermal conductivity of this alloy are ideal for mold applications, especially for brass extrusion. Mo30W Molybdenum (Molybdenum) alloy is the only commercially available molybdenum / tungsten alloy. Mo30W exhibits excellent durability, especially in high purity melt zinc (99.99% Zn).
