Super Dublex
Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462) is a stainless steel containing two-phase, ferritic, austenitic 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5 to 6% nickel. Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462) is the most widely used duplex stainless steel grade and has twice as high yield strength as the standard austenitic stainless steel grades.
Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462) is the most common of several different duplex stainless steels. Dublex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462) has a much higher corrosion resistance than most other stainless steels (such as AISI 316, AISI 317).
Similarly, the mechanical properties and strength of the Dublex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462) stainless are also higher. Corrosion resistance of ordinary stainless steels and Dublex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462) is used where the strength is not sufficient.
Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803, S32205, 1.4462)
- Due to its high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content, the Duplex 2205 exhibits superior corrosion resistance in most environments than 316 and 316L.
