Haynes 25 (L605) combines very good resistance to oxidation environments and excellent high temperature resistance at temperatures up to 980 \u00b0 C (1795 \u00b0 F). Haynes 25 (L605) also has high resistance to sulphidation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) BASIC FEATURES<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haynes 25 (L605) has excellent high temperature strength and good oxidation resistance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haynes 25 (L605) (UNS R30605) is a cobalt-nickel-chrome-tungsten alloy that provides excellent resistance to oxidizing environments and sulfidation up to 1800 \u00b0 F (980 \u00b0 C) for excellent long term operation with excellent high temperature strength. Haynes 25 (L605) can be manufactured by conventional techniques. Haynes 25 (L605) has excellent resistance to metal cracking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) PRODUCTION<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haynes 25 (L605) alloy has good forming and welding properties. If kept at a temperature of 2200 \u00b0 F (1205 \u00b0 C) for a period of time sufficient to bring the entire part to a temperature, it may be forged or otherwise hot-worked. Haynes 25 (L605) has ductility and can also be formed by cold working. However, the Haynes 25 (L605) alloy hardens very quickly; therefore, complex annealing operations will often require intermediate annealing operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All hot or cold processed parts of Haynes 25 (L605) are annealed and cooled rapidly to ensure the best balance of properties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) HEAT TREATMENT<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haynes 25 (L605) is normally heat treated at 2150 to 2250 \u00b0 F (1175 &#8211; 1230 \u00b0 C) and is rapidly cooled to achieve optimum properties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) APPLICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Haynes 25 (L605) alloy is used in the aerospace industry, including parts of gas turbine engines. Modern engines use new materials such as the Haynes 188 alloy and the Haynes 230 alloy, which has more recently developed features.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) ABRASION RESISTANCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Haynes 25 (L605) alloy offers excellent resistance to metal breakage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) WATER CORROSION RESISTANCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The HAYNES 25 alloy is not designed to resist corrosive aqueous environments. Representative mean corrosion data are given for comparison. For applications requiring corrosion resistance in aqueous environments, ULTIMET and HASTELLOY corrosion resistant alloys should be considered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 (L605) OXIDATION RESISTANCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Haynes 25 (L605) alloy shows good resistance to both air and combustion gas oxidizing environments and can be used for prolonged continuous exposure at 1800 \u00b0 F (980 \u00b0 C). It can be used at higher temperatures for short exposures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An application in which oxidation resistance is serious requires newer, more capable materials such as haynes 230 or haynes 188 alloy. This is especially important at temperatures above 1800 \u00b0 F (980 \u00b0 C).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 SULFIDATION RESISTANCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Haynes 25 (L605) alloy is very resistant to gaseous sulfidation environments encountered in various industrial applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HAYNES 25 WELDING CAPACITY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haynes 25 (L605) is easily welded with alloy, Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW),. The welding properties are similar to the Haynes 188 alloy. Submerged arc welding is not recommended because this method is characterized by high heat input of the base metal and slow cooling of the source.
