INCOLOY A-286 (Alloy A286, 1.4944, UNS S66286)
A286 is an Iron-Nickel-Chromium alloy that can be hardened by aging. It is designed for applications requiring high resistance up to 700 ° C (1290 ° F) and good corrosion resistance.
The A286 alloy market is also known as Incoloy A286, ATI A286, Pyromet A286. The A286 alloy is an austenitic superalloy based on iron. A-286 is designed for use in applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance up to 704 ° C and for applications requiring low voltage at higher temperatures. The mechanical properties of the A286 alloy can be increased by making the necessary heat treatments.
A-286 is an alloy developed for applications requiring high strength in a short time between 1320-1500 ° F and between -320 ° F and 1000 ° F. A286 is a hardenable iron based superalloy with aging.
A286 alloy has excellent high temperature oxidation resistance. A286 is often used in construction of fasteners and springs for high temperature applications.
A286 is similar to some austenitic stainless steels with chromium, nickel and molybdenum content, and as a result the corrosion resistance in A286 aqueous media is similar to that of austenitic stainless steels. Up to 704 ° C
In applications such as jet engine environments at high temperatures the ambient corrosion resistance is excellent.
