HAYNES 230 (2.4733, UNS N06230)

HAYNES 230 (2.4733, UNS N06230)

Haynes 230 combines excellent high temperature strength, thermal stability and environmental resistance. Haynes 230 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy that provides very good resistance to oxidizing environments.

HAYNES 230 EASY MACHINING

The Haynes 230 alloy has excellent forming and welding properties. If kept at a temperature of 2150 ° F (1177 ° C) for a time sufficient to reach the temperature of the entire part, it may be forged or otherwise hot-worked. The Haynes 230 is easily shaped by cold processing as a result of good ductility. All hot or cold machined parts are annealed and cooled rapidly to ensure the best balance of properties. The alloy can be welded by various techniques including gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW) and resistance welding.

HAYNES 230 CASTING

Haynes 230 alloy can be cast by conventional air-melting sand molds or vacuum melt casting foundry applications.

HAYNES 230 APPLICATIONS

Haynes 230 is used in the production of various parts in the aerospace and energy industries. Haynes 230 is also used in industrial heating systems. Haynes 230 is used for combustion boxes, passages, flame arrestors, thermocouples and other important gas turbine components. It is also used in the chemical process industry for Haynes 230, ammonia burners, high-strength thermocouple protection tubes, high-temperature heat exchangers, ducts, high temperature bellows. In the industrial heating industry, applications for the Haynes 230 are hotplates, chains, burner parts, recuperator inserts, shock absorbers, nitriding furnace inserts, heat treatment baskets, grates, trays, thermocouple protection tubes.

HAYNES 230 MAIN APPLICATION AREAS

  • Combustion chambers
  • Transition channels
  • Flame holders
  • Thermocouple cases
  • Ammonia burner
  • Heat exchangers

HAYNES 230 WELDING

Haynes 230 can be welded easily with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and resistant welding techniques. Haynes 230 welding properties are similar to Hastelloy X alloy. AWS A5.14, ERNiCrWMo-1 welding wire and filler material are used for Haynes 230 welding.
